Kerys Julia Harrop Professional Footballer

Kerys Julia Harrop is an English football central defender/wing back who currently plays for and captains Birmingham City. She is the longest serving player at Birmingham City Ladies FC, having come through the centre of excellence.

Kerys has also been involved with the England National Team at Under 19 and Under 23 level and was part of the Under 19 squad who won the European Championships in Belarus in 2009.

She has been in the senior squad since the launch of the FA Women’s Super League in 2011, going on to become runners up two years consecutively (2011/12).

As well as this, she formed part of the squad that were runners-up in the Continental Cup in 2011 and 2012.

In 2012, she was a member of the team that won the Women’s FA Cup and later that year make her debut in the UEFA Women’s Champions League against Verona.

In addition to her footballing achievements, Kerys has obtained a first class Honours degree from Loughborough University in Sport Science and a master's degree and PGCE Teaching Degree from the University of Wolverhampton, where she is a part-time visiting lecturer in Anatomy and Physiology.

Kerys holds both British and American citizenship.

Kerys Harrop signs new Blues Ladies contract

Blues Ladies defender Kerys Harrop spoke to BluesTV after signing a new deal at the Birmingham City Football Club.

SUMMARY:

Birmingham City Ladies captain Kerys Harrop has agreed a new two-year deal with the WSL 1 club.

England international Harrop, 27, is the club's longest-serving player and was part of the FA Women's Cup-winning side in 2011-12.

"It means a lot to me," she said. "Over half of my life I have been at Blues and it just shows the commitment and loyalty I have for playing for them."

The left-back has made 16 appearances in all competitions this season.

International

Harrop was a member of the Great Britain team who won a Gold medal in Kazan in the 2013 World University Games. Kerys has also represented England at youth level in more than one age group.
