INTERVIEW:

BIRMINGHAM CITY WOMEN MIDFIELDER HEIDI LOGAN HAS PENNED PROFESSIONAL TERMS WITH THE CLUB.

“It’s amazing,” she said. “I’m delighted to have signed my first professional contract and I didn’t expect it at all, so that makes it even better for me.”

The young star joined the Regional Talent Club (RTC) in 2015 from local rivals West Bromwich Albion when she was 14-years-old.

Two years later, she was asked to train with the first-team. However, during the last campaign she was hit by a set-back which saw her side lined with injury for eight months.

But now after being asked to join the senior side’s preparation during preseason, she was also handed her contract.

She said: “Training’s been much harder, but I think I’ve adapted well to it. I’m excited for the future and to see what is going to happen.

“My ambition is to make my debut for the first team. After that you never know what could happen, but I’d like to play for them week in, week out. But I’m still young.

“I’m an attacking threat and I’m always trying to score goals, which is important because goals win you games.”
